NSA-IL is committed to offering its members, candidates, and guests outstanding opportunities to enrich their professional development. Among these, are a series of professional development seminars.
Each seminar in the series focuses on a speaking competency, such as platform mechanics, authorship, or marketing, and assists each speaker towards reaching (and surpassing) their professional goals. Meetings are held every other month from September to May.

Speaker University is an exciting and intensive educational program designed to assist aspiring speakers in becoming full professional members of NSA and NSA-IL. It is set up much like a college level curriculum and includes eight monthy 3-hour classes. Facilitators and instructors are accomplished NSA members who share hands-on professional speaking experience. A serious committment, regular attendance and completion of homework assignments is expected. A detailed syllabus covers NSA's eight compentencies: topic development, platform mechanics, presenting and performing, authorship and product development, sales and marketing, managing the business, professional awareness, and professional relationships. Regular attendance will ensure you receive homework that will help you to integrate the materials into your own business. |
Anyone who is interested in attending Speaker U must first become a candidate in NSA-IL. Enrollment for new candidates occurs each September. Registration is closed for this year but we will begin a new session in October, 2008. If interested, please submit your contact information to the office.
